How to plant flowers

First, buy a flower! Select a healthy-looking flower (which are usually in pots) and ensure that appropriate for the region and the area you want to select plants.

Next, prepare the site that works. Plowing the soil for at least a foot deep. If the ground is hard to add a little 'commercial soil or peat to make it softer. That makes it easier to work and help the plant grow better. The soil is also a good powder unfoundedwhile the soil is too heavy (eg, sound) will not allow the roots to breathe. The plan is perfect halfway between these two extremes, a nice crumbly, soft soil, which can be packed hard.

Add fertilizer if you want the plant grow stronger, even though most container plants some plant food already in the pot then this is optional. If you choose, make sure you fertilize too much.

Start by digging a hole twice as wide as the pot about an inch deep.Carefully remove the plant with the roots and soil from the pot. It should be short, but it must be cut with a knife, remove all at once. Put the game in the bottom of the hole and add an inch of loose soil around the roots.

Add water enough to cover the earth, then go to layers of loose soil and add water until the roots are completely covered. Now it all a bit 'sit until the water runs out and the mixture is resolved. Then the pack with his foot, so that the plant roots and held firmly in place. Finally add the rest of the land until the hole filled, but only the top soil from the pot, because you have to leave space for mulch.

Add mulch around the plant, about two inches deep, but be sure to find a distance of about an inch at the roots - you do not want the mulch in contact with the plant itself, since this increases the risk of infestation by insects. Easy on the trainStem cells to make sure it is packed and if it moves, you need a little 'harder punch really pack the plants in the ground. At the end of the plantation, you just have to water again.

Now the plant has to grow on the sun's energy, with a little 'attention away: water every two or three days and keep an eye on the site to make sure the soil does not dry too. But be careful, do not breathe, no water as the roots in one location and will be effectivedrown the plant!

Thailand - The Land of Smiles and Cheap Travel

Thailand is known as the land of smiles, which is amazing considering the traffic jams in Bangkok. For budget travelers, Thailand simply can't beat on price alone.

Thailand

Thailand is an odd mix of contrasts. It can be extremely stressful while trying to get around in Bangkok and gloriously relaxing while laying on practically any of the beaches that populate the coast of the country. Regardless of the situation, the Thais have a habit and custom or smiling regardless of what you ask or how you ask it.

Beaches

The beaches of Thailand need no introduction. Used as the setting for hundreds of movies, they come in a variety of styles. The beaches of Phuket and Phi Phi fall along the lines of traditional beach resort areas like you might find in a place such as Cancun, Mexico or Tamarindo, Costa Rica. On the other end of the scale, you can find more rustic beach areas in places like the island of Ko Chang where you'll have a few beach bungalows, a couple of bars and one or two stores. If you're looking for a little of both styles, just ask around.

Da North

Infatuated with the beach life, many people fail to head up country when in Thailand. This is a mistake as the north is the host to such locations as the city of Chang Mai, the Summer Palace of the King of Thailand and interesting little villages. For the outdoor enthusiasts, rafting, hiking and mountain biking are very popular and widely available.

Prices

If you're on a budget, Thailand is a perfect travel destination. For some reason, flights to Thailand are particularly cheap with my recent flight on Korean Airlines running roughly $650 round trip. Once in country, your money will go a long, long way.

I think a note of caution is need at this point. Please beware. If you decide to take a trip to Thailand, you won't want to come back to your native country. You will, however, definitely come back to Thailand!

Orchid Feeding Tips and Guide

Some people will have you believe that orchids are hard to care for, and in some cases, that's true. The old saying 'feed weakly, weekly' comes to mind when dealing with these unique flowers, but what do you feed? Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are vital ingredients for orchids, just like any other plant. The air and growing medium will provide some of this, but most orchids are pot grown, and will need supplemented. This is even more important for orchids since, instead of soil, they are planted in bark, rocks or sand.

Pellets, liquid and mulch are just a few forms that these supplements come in. Whichever type you choose, your objective is to maintain the proper balance of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

Fertilizers and soil treatments will usually be labeled 30-10-10 or 15-5-5 and sometimes 20-20-20. These numbers indicate the percentages of the three elements that we discussed earlier. Do not be alarmed that the numbers don't add up to 100%. The remaining percentage consists of whatever else the compound is made up of.

Some will allow orchids to grow on the bark of their trees, which is similar to how some (epiphytes) are found in the wild. These types will respond well to the stronger mixture (30-10-10). A medium mixture (20-20-20) is sufficient for those that are grown in pots. These levels may need to be adjusted at different times of year.

Try using a 10-30-20 mixture at the end of Summer to strengthen those last blooms of the season. It's also a good idea in the spring, before the first blooms, to provide some extra nutrients to get them started.

Great care should be taken when fertilizing since orchids are such sensitive plants. You will risk fertilizer burn if you over do it. Fertilize your plants once a week, with the first one of every month at full strength. Then, for the next three weeks, dilute the mixture to one quarter of that. It's also a good idea to rinse out any unwanted salt residue with water once a month.

The elements in the fertilizer will react with the elements already present in the soil to create salts. These salts will prevent water absorption, and cause other harmful biochemical reactions as well. It should not be much of a problem in small amounts, but letting it get out of hand will harm your plants.

If the label on your fertilizer lists something called 'potash', this is merely another name for the element called potassium.

Since it dissolves well in water, potash will usually need to be provided often and in different forms. Liquid potash comes in a convenient spray that can be used on the leaves or directly on the soil.

If you're not sure of how much fertilizer is necessary, remember that you will do more damage by applying too much than too little. Start with a small amount and adjust it up from there. Usually your fertilizer will come with easy to follow directions that should help you get the mixture just right.

Thailand Destinations - The Isaan Khmer Monuments

The Khmer monuments in northeastern Thailand were built in the period 10th - 13th century AD, a time when Khmer dynasties ruled the area, subordinate to a Khmer King seated at Angkor in present day Cambodia. While these monuments are not of the magnitude of Angkor Wat, they are substantial monuments with statues, lintels and pediments that depict Hindu deities and inscriptions honoring the Khmer dynasty.

The Khmer Empire had its beginnings as early as 790 when King Jayavarman conquered the Javanese Kingdom of Kambuja and introduced the Hindu cult of Devaraja (God King). By 889 AD, the new Angkor Kingdom extended as far as Ubon in Thailand and subsequently to central, eastern, northern and northeastern Thailand, a presence that lasted until the mid 13th century. It was not until 1430 when the Ayutthayan Empire of the Tai-Siamese sacked Angkor that the decline of the Khmer commenced. However, Khmer is still the native language of many people, particularly around Surin in the northeast.

Visitors can reach these monuments by traveling to Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) and take day trips to the different sites. The Khmer temple of Prasat Hin is located at Phimai near Khorat and the Phanom Rung monument is located in the Buri Ram province further northeast.

Phanom Rung

The Khmer temple Prasat Phanom Rung stands on top of an extinct volcano 200 metres above the Buri Ram plain, northeast of Khorat. It is one of the most significant and most visited Khmer monuments in Thailand. The setting is scenic, with views of the surrounding countryside.

Most of the structure was built in the 10th - 12th century AD. Part of the structure, including the central sanctuary, galleries with entrance pavilions and the large staircase were built some decades earlier than Angkor Wat in present day Cambodia. The main temple was built by a Khmer Lord named Narendraditya and his son Hireanya. They belonged to what is called the Mahidharapura dynasty that played an important part in the campaigns of the Angkor Wat ruler Suryavarman II.

Phanom Rung was a Hindu (Shiva) monastery. Sculptures, lintels and pediments depict the Hindu Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The most famous lintel depicts Vishnu reclining on the back of the Naga King Ananta.

Muang Tam ("Low City")

This monument is located near Phanom Rung and is worth a visit only if you also visit Phanom Rung. Its main structure is surrounded by 5 towers and ponds with floating lotus flowers. This structure is not supervised to the same extent as Phanom Rung.

Prasat Hin

This monument is located in Phimai, near the city of Khorat. The town of Phimai is scenic and set near the Moon River with its many branches. The Phimai Inn is located about 1 km outside the town and the guesthouse management can arrange a day excursion to Phanom Rung.

As with Phanom Rung, the monument dates back to the 11th - 13th century AD. Initially built and dedicated to Hindu Gods, the temple later functioned as a Mahayana Buddhist sanctuary.

There is also a National Museum in Phimai that displays restored lintels found at Prasat Hin. Another town attractive attraction is a giant banyan tree.

Thailand's World

Thailand is a modern democratic Nation in Central South East Asia. '' Thai '' is the Tai word for '' free ''. The '' Thai '' identity was formed in the late 13 th C at Sukhothai and is not to be confused with '' Tai '' the name of the ethnic groups of people who migrated from Yunnan in the 12th & 13th Centuries. The character of the Thai Nation today and of its people can only be appreciated by exploring its 2000 years of recorded history and the cultures of the various peoples who live here. Thailand's natural landscape includes tropical wet evergreen forests in Southern Thailand to temperate deciduous forests in North Thailand and we explore these in the Thailand National Parks. Thailand art architecture and decorative objects need to be considered with regard to the influences of religion, mythological beliefs and regional artistic styles. Thailand is so large and diverse we detail all about Thailand in separate regions, North or Northern Thailand, South or Southern Thailand, Central Thailand and North East Thailand [ I 'san ].

North Thailand Travel & Places Of Interest

The Thailand Government defines North Thailand as consisting of both [ 1 ] the 84,000 square kilometres comprising 8 provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lampang, Lamphun, Phrae and Mae Hong Son, which area originally comprised the Lan Na principalities detailed in the North Thailand History link [ the Upper North ], and [ 2 ] the 86,000 square kilometres of the Lower North, comprising the provinces of Kamphaeng Phet, Tak, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit Phitsanulok and Phetchabun, which area originally comprised the Kingdoms of Sukhothai and later the northern parts of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, Thon Buri and Bangkok Kingdoms.

The Differences Between The Upper North Thailand And The Lower North Thailand

One discernable difference between the Upper and Lower North Thailand is topography. Upper North Thailand is characterised by long valleys generally running north south. The climate has three seasons, hot [ April to May ] cool and rain [ July to September ]. Approximately 72% of the area is mountainous, 21% upland and 8% lowland. The lowland is cultivated by the Tai people to produce wet rice.

Lower North Thailand has 45% of its total land mass less than 150 metres above sea level and is thus similar to Thailand's Central region. However the two mountain extensions of the Upper North, [ 1 ] Thanon Thang Chai Range to the west and, [ 2 ] Petchabun Range to the east attract an extension of swidden hill tribe communities as in the Upper North, all part of the exodus from China of these ethnic minorities over the past hundreds of years. The geographic differences in topography need to be appreciated as the ethnic, sociological and cultural differences are essentially between lowlanders and highlanders [ Hill tribes ]. These classifications and detailed explanations are discussed in North Thailand People .

About Central Thailand

Central Thailand is situated on the central plains of the Chao Phraya River and the Meklong River valley. The first substantial civilisation here was that of the Mon people and during the 6th - 9th C its Buddhist Kingdom was referred to in chinese records and on silver coins as '' Dvaravati ''. Influences from India when merged with Mon characteristics formed the basis of religion, art, architecture and public administration.

About South Thailand

South Thailand comprises the Southern Peninsula with the Andaman Sea to the West and the Gulf of Siam to the East. It is a mountainous region and the Phuket Mountain Range is the most important on the West from Chumphon to Krabi and to the East is the Nakhon Si Thammarat Mountain Range from Surat Thani to Satun. Between these ranges are the plains and limestone hills and to the South the Sannkalakhiri Mountains which divide Malaysia and Thailand.

Thailand has in excess of 138 wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks. The major locations are listed in the opposite links and we detail 20 National Parks and eco tourism locations. Thailand is home to over 15,000 species of vascular plants and 16,000 species of animals

Thailand travel and tourism to Thailand places of interest is not a matter of a few choices as is the case with many Asia destinations. Thailand is large and diverse with a large selection of travel and holiday options. In 2005 over 14 million tourists visited Thailand and their range of interests varied.

Holidays in Thailand?

There are many countries around the world to visit and each offers its own attractions and reasons to visit. So, why Thailand? What makes this country unique, valuable and easy to visit a wonderful place?

With about 15 million visitors a year, and many return guests from previous years will certainly confirm the popularity of the country, but they are unique and you'll find what you're looking for?

Many people have pointed out to me that if you are going tofly to Thailand, I think you're someone who loves the beach and the sea.

This shows people's perception that turned Thailand is warm all trees, islands, blue sea, white beaches and palm trees. While this is certainly part of the charm, is certainly not everything is Thailand.

The first thing that comes to mind is the price you pay for the visit and stay in hotels in Thailand. Whether you're a backpacker, a 5-Star break or somewherebetween, Thailand remains one of the cheapest destinations in the world.

As elements of quality of accommodation in Thailand (that rival the best in the world), the beautiful surroundings, the friendliness of the family and warm tropical climate to name a few, is also at stake is the acceptance of a bargain in Thailand.

To add to the attractive hotel accommodation rates in Thailand, this must be one of the countries where itsWorld, if not the country in the world where hotels offer save the most incredible deals and special packages of cash.

Where else can you find the hotel, which offers such as "stay 16 nights and only pay for 8 or 10 and pay only 5"? Not that there's only one or two with such a deal once in a while. There are a lot of them, ranging from 3 to 5 star in Thailand, including destinations such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi and practically everyone else.

The next reasonon my list is the Extreme, hotels and resorts in Thailand for the last out to create a tourist destination for families.

At first it's a known fact that the Thais are very fond of children, and a resident of Thailand Expat, this was very evident very quickly. Hotels and Resorts throughout Thailand recognizes children as future customers and, as such, children's club professional, with a series of educational activities and other fun and exciting for children, creates a paradise for children to enjoy their holiday. At the same time, this creates for parents time to themselves.

Many hotels in all price categories have also ideal for families. Two to five bedroom and theme parties for children, small and large families can find suitable accommodation anywhere in Thailand.

Thailand is safe. Even for the single female traveler, this must be one of the safest destinationsin the world. It certainly can not say that the crime will never take place in Thailand. However, the Thai people a non-aggressive, and the probability of a tourist are the victims of crime, particularly violent crime, remains very low. To maintain this status as a safe tourist destination, the Thai police have established the Tourist Police Division. These men and women are mostly British, able, impartial and a girlfriend first tourists arriving in the land of smiles.

Referringback to our first point in relation to Thailand is not all sand and surf, the diversity of the country landscape, history and culture as a tourist attraction, a special mention.

Thai civilization dates back to 3600 BC, although Thailand announced its independence 1238th AD Since then, the city of Sukhothai Khmer empire was removed and the Lanna Thai kingdom was established in the rule, was the first capital of Ayutthaya and then transferred to more or less whereBangkok is today, and cities and temples, of which the outer walls and the ruins can still be visited today, was to build. Therefore, Thailand is with all these historical sites, castles and museums, a lover of history, dreams and enrich your knowledge of a very ancient culture and very interesting. Then many ancient and historical sites are a must for every tourist.

As I said, is Thailand's most beautiful islands, warm blue sea, white beaches and crystal clear warm tropical climate of the main reasonsmany if not most, who come here. However, getting off the beaten track and lead to a visit to a very exciting and rewarding.

Venture north in places like Chiang Mai (in place that say perfected hospitality), Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son experience to fall more traditional Thai culture, friendly people and a landscape of pine. Green forested hills, rivers and waterfalls set the beautiful surroundings, rich history and culture.

A variety of national parks dotin Thailand, particularly in the north, crossed by paths crossed, waiting to be explored. This is far from being a cocktail under the palm trees on an island cry now?

And while you're there, visit the Northern Hill Tribes, the descendants of Chinese, Burmese, Laotians and Vietnamese who migrated to Thailand over the centuries. Always dressing in traditional clothes, and much still alive, as they always have, like these people have no experience losing.

AnotherThe highlight of the trip through Thailand, the cost of transport. Of course, if you go in private luxury travel all the time, there may be more expensive, but overall, the trip to Thailand is dirt cheap and make a lot of colorful transportation is as much fun as it is Economic and friendly.

Moreover, the most authentic and local, their terms and therefore more fun, less you get. Replace the speedboat invented for a longtail boat, for example (not allLongtail boats look like a canoe. Some are more large boats with big loads, but they are based). And 'much slower, but you get a lot more to see and feel just great.

Take the train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, if you travel to some islands in the Gulf of Thailand, instead of flying. Even with a mini-bus from Bangkok to Chumphon, and thence by boat to the islands in the Gulf will cost less than 2000 Thai baht for a trip of 600 miles. For as long as there is a verymore adventure and part of the total holiday experience, as only the fastest and most expensive option.

In summary, I want you to travel in Thailand, because it is so different. Unlike in the West, but also different from most other countries in Asia and Europe.

A big city like Bangkok in part, Thailand is still very rural, and even in the city for a bit 'more like developed Hua Hin, Thailand still always feel very authentic Thai. Life is still simple in many ways arelaxed, tomorrow, to see the attitude.

Our advice is booking in more than one region of Thailand. Spend a week on an island, then control, but also the interior and northern Thailand, amazed and impressed at the same time and new plans as soon as possible back.

Visit Bangkok - The Capital Of Thailand

Krung Thep is the Thai name for Bangkok. The Thais never call their beloved capital Bangkok. In fact, it is said that people living in some remote areas of Thailand may not have heard of Bangkok at all. Krung Thep, the capital of Thailand, is located on the east bank of the river Chao Phraya, which is forty kilometers from Gulf of Thailand. The population of the city is around 10,068,000.

Ayutthaya was the old capital of Thailand. After a period of 417 years, the capital was shifted to Bangkok or Krung Thep by King Rama I in 1782. The old capital was the main target of the invading countries and it fought several wars trying to defend its boundaries. King Rama I decided to move the capital city to a more secure place and he decided that nothing could be safer and more secure than Krung Thep. So, the capital was moved to the city of Krung Thep. The King felt that this place would be difficult to penetrate as the enemy armies would have to cross a river to enter the city and this would be difficult for them to do so.

Krung Thep is the short form of the actual name of Bangkok. The real length name of the city is so long that it was recorded in the Guinness book of records as the world's longest place name. The full name is;

Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.

The meaning of the name is roughly translated as:

The city of angels, the great city, the residence of the Emerald Buddha, the impregnable city (of Ayutthaya) of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarn.
